Monuments — Urns & vases

Turned, hollowed
and matched to the stone.

Vases, flowerpots, lanterns and sealed urns — cut from the offcut of the memorial's own block, which is why they still match the headstone in ten years and a bought-in vase does not.

How the vase
sits on the base.

Four ways, and it is worth asking the family which they want — this is what decides whether the vase is still on the plot next spring.

Loose FixingSits on the base Lifted out for cleaning and planting. Simplest, and the one most families expect.
Dowelled FixingStainless pin Pinned into the base so it cannot be lifted off the plot.
Recessed FixingCut into the base A rebate in the base holds the foot, so the vase cannot be knocked over.
Turn-down FixingFlush when closed The vase drops into a sleeve and sits level with the base — nothing for a mower to catch.

Vases commonly run 200–350 mm tall with a 60–100 mm bore. State the bore if the family uses a metal liner, and tell us whether the cemetery allows anything standing proud — several only permit turn-down.

Cored, turned
and sealed here.

Urn plates are fitted and checked before packing. A chamber that does not close properly is the one failure a family notices immediately.
