Monuments — Engraving & lettering

The stone lasts.
The lettering has to as well.

Cyrillic, Latin and Armenian text, portraits, emblems and ornament — cut in our own shop, proofed at full size before anything is blasted, and filled to the finish you specify.

How deep
the cut goes.

Depth decides how long the lettering survives and how it reads in low light. These are the four we quote against.

Surface etched Depth0.5–1 mm Finest detail, shallowest cut. Portraits and scenes — and the first to suffer on a wet wall.
Sandblasted Depth2–3 mm The trade standard for names and dates. Frosted floor, square shoulders, holds paint well.
V-cut Depth3–5 mm Angled walls meet at a point, so the letter catches light without any fill at all.
Deep carved Depth6 mm and over Letters and ornament cut back far enough to throw a real shadow at distance.

As a working rule, 10 mm of letter height reads at about one metre. Etched work is the finest and the shallowest — beautiful on a sheltered face, the first to fade on a wet exposed wall.

A misspelt name
is a replaced stone.

So the layout goes back to you at full size with every character as it will be cut, and nothing is blasted until that proof comes back signed.

TextSend it as a document, one line per row, exactly as it should read. We do not retype from photographs — that is where errors start.
FontsYour workshop's house fonts, or ours. Vector artwork for logos, crests and emblems, with fonts outlined.
PortraitsSharp photographs at full size, not enlarged screenshots. Proofs returned before the face is etched.
FillsEnamel paint, gold leaf or left natural. Gilding on a sheltered face outlasts paint by years.
Later additionsLayout kept on file so a second name matches the first in font, spacing and depth, not just the font name.
Blank stockStones shipped polished and blank for your own shop to letter — the fastest way to hold inventory.
